Back in my Price taping attending days (late '90s, finally got picked in 2000), I would say getting to CBS at 4-5am pretty much guaranteed you a seat (you of course need tickets). In fact, 4-5am usually got me at the very front of the line (a potential disadvantage in getting picked, IMO).

Well, my good friend Jason attended a taping today and boy have times changed. Monday is the only two-taping day, which means a show tapes at 1 and 4pm. The 4pm show (that's the one I attended when I was picked), you used to be able to show up at 7am or so and get in. With Bob retiring, apparently the demand for tickets has skyrocketed. People are now camping out the night before for a spot in line (that means up to 1/3 of the line for tomorrow's show is already there at 10pm). Jason got there at 4am for the 4pm show and just barely got in, tickets #295-#300 or so.

So by all means, if you haven't seen Bob in action, I urge you to see TPIR tape in these last 4 months before he retires. But get there EARLY, far earlier than they tell you to on the website. You will be tired the next day, but it will be worth it.
