10/4/01 - Present
In what goes down as one of the most productive weeks in new pricing game history, three days after Bonkers premiered, Pass the Buck also premiered. Pass the Buck is a game played for a car and cash. The game starts with a grocery item pricing game. Two grocery items are shown. One has the correct price, while one is $1.00 too cheap. The contestant must "Pass the Buck" to the grocery item that is under priced. If he guesses correctly, he earns a pick on the Pass the Buck board. Three pairs of grocery items are shown for a maximum of three picks.
The Pass the Buck board has eight numbers. One number contains the car, while four numbers contain cash amounts (1 each of $1,000, $2,000, $3,000, and $5,000). Three numbers contain the words "Lose Everything". The contestant makes his first pick, and if picks a cash amount or the car, he can stop with what he has or keep picking. Should he pick "Lose Everything" at any point along the way, he indeed loses everything. However, that doesn't mean the game is over. Lose Everything is similar to a Whammy on Press Your Luck--your stash is wiped out but you can keep picking (assuming you have picks left).
Rule/Set Changes: On 1/11/02, the game board was altered slightly. Two numbers were removed, leaving only six on the board. The $2,000 cash value and one of the "Lose Everything"s were taken out. The contestant can still earn three picks at the board, but the first pick is given for free, and only two sets of grocery items are played, so the contestant can earn two additional picks.
