Freeze Frame

1994 (?) - Present

Freeze Frame is a unique game played for a four-digit prize. Eight boxes with two-digit numbers travel slowly in a clockwise fashion on the board. Two of these boxes adjacent to one another represent the first and last two digits in the price of the prize. The object of the game is for the contestant to "freeze" these two boxes at the top of the board in a rectangular area. If the contestant indeed freezes the right price, s/he wins the prize.

At regular intervals as the boxes spin around the board, a sound effect of camera clicking is made. One detraction to the game is the slow fashion in which the numbers travel around the board. If the contestant believes the correct pair of boxes has already passed through the rectangular area and wishes to wait for them to come back, s/he has a good bit of waiting to do (a la the old Pick-a-Pair). The unfortunate thing there is that "Range Game"-mode sets in with the audience and they become impatient waiting for the numbers to come back. Much like Range Game, the audience often entices the contestant to pull the lever and stop this game prematurely.

Here's Freeze Frame, a simple yet fun game. He's pulled the lever and stopped the price of the prize, a sauna, at $4495.
Is that the right price? It sure is! Get ready to get steamy in that sauna!
