Round 1 Recap

Leslie earned 3 spins, Kathy 6, and Tim 7 in the question round and played in that order.  Each player racked up a whammy in their first go at the board, and Tim took an early lead, with Leslie in second place and Kathy in third.  At $5,230, Tim passed three spins to Leslie, who immediately picked up his second Whammy as a result.

Ricki looks comfortable asking the first question of the game. The answer is nose, but Kathy is clutching her breasts! Leslie's early lead would soon vanish.

Leslie came back in a big way on his next spin, picking up $4,000+Spin (the biggest value hit by anyone in the round).  But instead of passing back to Tim, he continued on and picked up a third Whammy.  In this dire state, he passed his final spin back to Tim, who ended the round in first place with $6,030 and one Whammy.  Kathy finished in second with $1,000 and one Whammy, while Leslie was at $0 and three Whammys.

An early Whammy left Kathy in second place in Round One. Leslie had all sorts of bad luck in Round One. Tim was in the driver's seat after Round One.

Round 2 Recap

The question round for round 2 featured the only question that did not have a buzz in answer, but no contestant missed an answer during the round.  All three players earned 6 spins each and moved on to the big board, which featured a top prize of $10,000+Spin.  Leslie got knocked out of the game in his second spin of the round, which turned the game into a dogfight between Kathy and Tim.  Kathy played just one spin and hit a huge Alaskan Cruise and elected to pass her 5 other spins right to Tim.

Leslie was out of the game just two spins into the round! Paige and Sophie wave good-bye to Leslie. This Alaskan Cruise allowed Kathy to leapfrog into first place.

Tim fought off the Whammy five times and racked up a huge $30,795 before passing seven (!) spins back to Kathy.  However, Kathy continued the Whammy-less streak and built her total up even higher, hitting $8,000+Spin.  By the end of her seven passed spins, Kathy had racked up $36,300 and first place.  She had 3 earned spins picked up during her passed spin run and played one of them, picking up a telescope along the way.  At $38,374 she finally passed her last two spins back to Tim as the spin battle heated up.  On his first spin Tim hit the biggest spot on the board, $10,000+Spin and vaulted back into first.  With another $1500+Spin Tim was now at $42,295 and 2 earned spins, a $3,921 lead over Kathy.

Hitting $8000+Spin put Tim back in charge. With the lead back in hand, Tim asks the audience for advice. The frenzied final round had Ricki on the edge of her seat.

Despite this slim lead he passed back to Kathy.  She overtook him with $3000 and a dinette set to win the game with $46,267 and earn the last spot in Finalist's Row.

This $10000+Spin hit put Tim over the $40,000 mark. With just $921 between them, Kathy needed anything but a Whammy. She hit a Dinette Set and won the game!

*The contestant podium appeared to spin automatically, but there were actually stagehands back there doing the legwork.
*The home viewer question involved the famous spin battle between Lori and Kathy from 1984.
*Leslie's bizarre board chant of "No Whammys, No Whammys, $2000 and $2000!"
*Tim's board chant of "Farley, Farley, Farley, Farley!" in honor of Chris Farley.
*Kathy is one of the few contestants in Press Your Luck history to survive 7 passed spins.
