Pick-a-Number

1992 - Present

Pick-a-Number premiered as part of the celebration of the show's 4000th episode, but I assure you that the rest of the celebration (inculding the closing credits and commercials) was much more exciting than this game. A prize with four-digits is offered. One of the digits in the price (never the first) is missing. The contestant is shown three possibilities for the missing digit. Pick the right digit and you win.

Often played for such exciting prizes as amphibious vehicles, Pick-a-Number is frankly one game that most Price is Right fans wouldn't mind retired. A few fans (myself included) wouldn't mind taking part in the chain saw wrecking madness of destroying this game. It makes Double Prices look like Golden Road.

For the longest time I thought I noticed a pattern that the last of the three digit options was ALWAYS the correct one, but that since has been proved wrong by other people who have fast-forwarded through this game.

Oh look at that! An amphibious vehicle! (insert groans here)
There's always a spread of 3 between the digits. Isn't that exciting! She thinks it's $8375...she's probably praying that she's wrong...

And she is! Congratulations!
