Push Over

1999 - Present

Hooray! Push Over is by far the most creative game introduced in the 27th season (although, compared to One Wrong Price and Clearance Sale, that's not saying much). A four-digit prize is shown (once in a blue moon, a five-digit car is played for). Nine blocks with digits are shown on the board. The digits in the price of the prize are found adjacent to each other somewhere in the series. The contestant must "push over" the impostor blocks into a box at the end of the board until the digits in the price are found within a shaded region on the board. Once a block falls into the box, it is out of play. If the contestant has "pushed" correctly, s/he wins the prize.

In early playings of the game, Bob developed an inside joke for this game. On the first playing of the game, Bob insisted that the blocks could not be retrieved once they land in the box because they "go to China." Bob went as far to show the contestant that, by looking in the box, she could see people eating chow mein. Bob has mentioned this China joke on subsequent playing of the games.

The Push Over board puts boards like Joker to shame. It has several different fonts, colors, lights, and even a graphic of two hands on it.

Set Changes: Despite its relatively brief existence, Push Over has undergone a "set change." The box into which the unwanted blocks fall (down to China) went from red on the first two playings to yellow thereafter.

It's the third playing of Push Over from March, 1999. That guy's shirt matches the game! The contestant must push the blocks into that box until the price of the trip is in the blue shaded area. What a cool board!
Bob checks to see how the Chinese people are doing. There goes that "5", gone forever!
Oh no! He pushed one block too far! Admittedly, $3117 is a surprisingly cheap price for a trip to Sweden! Here's a closeup of the Push Over from its first playing in March, 1999.
There goes the zero! Note the red box, which admittedly blends too much into the turntable. She's a winner!

Push Over played for a 5-digit car during the 2003 $1,000,000 Spectacular Specials.  The correct price was $28,190.
