Race Game

1974 - Present

Race Game is a fast-paced, fun game in which four prizes can be won. Four price tags representing the values of the four prizes are given to the contestant and s/he must place the right price tag on the podium in front of its corresponding prize. After the contestant has done this once, s/he pulls the lever on a readout that displays how many tags s/he has placed correctly. If it number is anything less than 4, the contestant is permitted to make changes. The contestant gets 45 seconds to place tags and make changes. The contestant wins any prize s/he has correct. The setup for this game has remained the same since its inception.

During the 2003 $1,000,000 Spectacular Specials, Race Game was played for four trips, making it the only pricing game to ever be played for four trips.

The record for the shortest amount of time needed to get all four prizes correct is 9 seconds, I think.

Here are the price tags of the four prizes she can win. They are placed on the board in numerical order these days. Hurry, hurry, hurry! Anitra is rooting her on as she places the price tags (hopefully) on the right prizes.
Two right, two wrong! You have 28 seconds left to make changes. Incidentally, there are levers on both sides of the readout. This contestant thinks that price is $885. Incidentally, what the heck IS that prize???
There's nothing worse than that readout--except for this contestant's jacket... Finally! Perfection! And with no time left!
They all match and you win all four prizes! Wow look at the prices of those prizes!  From the $1,000,000 Spectacular in 2003.

These trip graphics won't get used again, probably.
